Hive Mind: Community of Praxis
Reparations
Who is this for?
For AT alumni who are actively working on one or more projects with specific and direct goals related to reparations.
What is it?
The Hive Minds are a CSS community of practice for change leaders wielding Story-based Strategy who are passionate about shifting narratives to transform the communities they serve. The group members will present their work and support each other through problem solving and advice from each other. The space will provide opportunities for people to collaborate and offer each other resources as everyone implements their work.
When is it?
This group will meet weekly starting on [DATE]. The group will meet for as many weeks as there are participants in addition to one opening week and one closing week. 4 participants = 6 weeks, 10 participants = 12 weeks, etc.
Schedule:
May 10, 9:00-10:30a PT / 12:00-1:30p ET
May 17, 9:00-10:00a PT / 12:00-1:00p ET
May 24, 9:00-10:00a PT / 12:00-1:00p ET

June 7, 9:00-10:00a PT / 12:00-1:00p ET
[etc]
If these times don’t work for you but you are interested in joining a community focused on this work, let Lawrence know (lawrence [at] storybasedstrategy [dot] org).
Where?
Meetings will be hosted online via Zoom.
Why?
We believe that a SBS is a practice more than a set of expertise. We also believe that SBS is most effective when done in an intersectional, participatory way.
How?
One person will be in the hot seat each week. They will share their project with the group and ask for feedback, ideas, and support. In addition to supporting the hotseat member, each week participants will have the option to share brief status updates about their projects. The call will have rotating facilitation by group members. Between calls, participants will decide if/how to communicate with each other individually, in subgroups, or as a whole. Week 1 will include personal introductions and project overviews. The final week will include an evaluation of the community of praxis and an opening to continue this or other formations.
Food
Each participant will have a meal covered, up to $35/meal, for each session of the hive. We hope that this (most ancient of ancient of organizing tactics) will lighten the load a bit for participants.
