Let’s Dream Together

All we’ve got is where we’re going.
— Tanya Shaw, AIDS Activist

Dear Movement Community,

Why are so many solutions suddenly so possible? From rapidly-activated homeless shelters, to national economic stimulus, to eviction moratoriums — some dreams are coming true in spite of the nightmare and because of visionary grassroots organizing demands.

We can both take care of each other now, and lead into hope for our collective future. Let’s take a moment to find firm steady footing, by understanding the stories that are moving now, and making room for the stories we are dreaming into being.

Now is the time to dream, to cultivate our radical imaginations. Not because “we have time on our hands”, but because we have an opportunity of a lifetime before us: to lead in a moment of a massive unveiling of existing truths, equipped with the hopes and dreams of all our movements.

The course made me imagine how easy it was to become encased in your own wall but how much easier it is to imagine your way out.

The 4th Box is a tool that explores the underlying assumptions of the narratives around us. Identifying these assumptions, the things you have to believe or value in order to believe a story is true, is essential to understanding how a story limits or expands what is possible. Once we begin to unveil how the narratives around us work, we liberate the bounds of what’s possible. Limiting narratives inevitably limit our imaginations. And this is a time when we need to be liberating our dreams and imagining as big as possible.

We are making our new online course The 4th Box: DEI + Story-based Strategy, in English and Spanish, free for the month of April. This course is normally $199. Use coupon code IMAGINEIMAGINA to get the discount, and pass it on!

Sign up before May 1st, 2020 to get free access for 90 days.

We are also excited to announce that #the4thBox is now available for FREE as a game on your mobile device! The 4th Box Simulation Game takes you on a journey in discovering possible answers to, "How did we get here?" and "How can we move beyond this?"

And of course don’t forget about all our free PDF resources related to #the4thBox, available for download on our website.

The 4th box training helped me move beyond thinking about what is, to dreaming about what could be possible, if we remove the idea that there are some things that are unchangeable.

Transition is inevitable, justice is not. Things will be different after, and it’s up to us to shape that change. But before we can take advantage of this moment, we need to take care of ourselves and ground each other amidst the maelstrom. We hope you’ll step into #the4thBox with us, as we dream, imagine and collectively liberate into our futures.

We can only go where we’ve first imagined.
