Immigrant rights

This year as the US government failed again to take up immigration reform and the Obama administration deported recorded numbers of people, the fight for dignity and human rights bubbled up from below. Under pressure from groups lead by Race Forward (formerly ARC), The Associated Press dropped the i-word while #notonemore, #all11million, and #webelongtogether called for a just immigration policy and an immediate end to deportations. Youth activists pushed on the border of Mexico, demanding family unity, and continued organizing insider detention centers. These efforts continue into 2014 as the fight escalates.
