Seeking a nonprofit Operations Associate responsible for organizational logistics coordination, office management support, and other operational duties in our Oakland office.

Center for Story-based Strategy is seeking a highly competent, detail-oriented Operations Associate who can help us reach our mission by staying on top of the day to day functions that make all our work possible! This position is part of CSS’s expansion to accommodate our growing, in-demand story-based strategy trainings and movement-building work.
This is a part-time (20 hrs/week) non-exempt, entry-level position. The position will start with a 3-month probationary period to determine fit.

1. LOGISTICS COORDINATION & SUPPORT (20% FTE)
Coordinate logistics for Staff, Board, and Fundraising-related events including:
Proactively managing communication with participants
Travel booking for staff, board, and network members
Venue research and booking
Ordering and coordinating meals
Gathering and prepping supplies, equipment, and technology needs, etc.
Support the Training Coordinator with programmatic logistics as needed for:
Onsite support for CSS trainings and other programmatic events (i.e. manage registration, set up meals, troubleshoot participant + training team needs)
Tech and other logistical support for online webinars/workshops
2. OFFICE & OPERATIONS SUPPORT (20% FTE)
Office management support:
Preparing office and event space for meetings and events
Purchase and organize supplies and equipment, maintain inventory
Check office mail and voicemail
Log incoming accounts receivable checks
Coordinate office maintenance schedule
Database management: data entry, cleanup/deduplication, backups
Send out individual donor Thank You Letters and following up with recurring donors as needed
Scheduling and email support for Co-Directors and Board of Directors as needed
Support the Development Team on Fundraising Campaigns
Other nonprofit compliance support
3.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (10% FTE)
The Operations Associate will be integrated into a strong organizational culture (as appropriate relevant to areas of responsibility) of regular internal communications, organizational development meetings, and mechanisms to promote ongoing team-building, smooth and transparent information-sharing, and alignment with organizational values.

Comfortable working virtually via Google, Trello, Zoom, and Slack communication, etc.
Computer skills and working knowledge of cloud-based software
Strong written, in-person, phone, and email communication skills

Experience working with vendors and negotiating costs/contracts.
Manage and work daily with both a long and short term perspective
Constantly refocus and re-prioritize work based on new information and/or changing circumstances
Work effectively and efficiently alone and within teams: self-starter and self-directed while committed to communication and collaboration
Experience and cultural competency working in diverse environment, and commitment to anti-oppression.
National travel required, approximately 10 days per year.
Must work from CSS office in Oakland, CA.
Additional Valuable Skills
Bilingual Spanish-English speakers
Experience with CRM databases such as NeonCRM
Experience working with remote teammates
Familiarity with story-based strategy
