Fake Amazon.com reviews garner thousands of fans in the UK and the US. Out of 518 reviews, it seems that the MAJORITY of the reviews are pranks:
No good for man hands: “I bought this pen (in error, evidently) to write my reports of each day’s tree felling activities in my job as a lumberjack. It is no good. It slips from between my calloused, gnarly fingers like a gossamer thread gently descending to earth between two giant redwood trunks.” — daveyclaytonBic “lady” pens unleash Amazon snarkfest - The Style Blog - The Washington Post
From this sarcasm, we see folks across the internet debate the practical implications of market scheming such as the BIC pen for ladies only. Is there a market premium for feminine gendered products?
MissBlondie13 and 2 more Reply I've seriously noticed the same thing. So guess what? I started buying men's stuff instead and saving big $. You know what the only real difference is? Colors and scents. If you can't get over the men's fragrances -aim for the unscented varieties. Oh and, Venus razors are a piece of crap compared to the men's Schick Hydro 3 & 5, which are on sale constantly and like $1 to $2 cheaper. Seriously, I get a better shave & if you dry & wipe them down with rubbing alcohol after each use -then store them in a drawer or cabinet (where there's no moisture) those blades will last you up to 6 months a piece.Bic's Ridiculous Lady-Pens Cost 70% More Than Identical Regular Pens
